oh, how i wish i could shut up like a telescope!

day sixteen: shutters, open your eyes with the daylight
woke up this morning
windows open wide, trying
to let in warmth, but

my room felt icy
without you there beside me
watching me dreaming.

day fourteen: i'll wake up feeling lonely
 i ought to wave, but
i don't want you to see me
hiding my teardrops.

day fifteen: summer's line blurred
it's getting colder -
it's septembers nostalgia,
creeping through the sky.

oh, I don't come from any garden.

day thirteen: morning palette
with cupcake royale
lemonade and musty sun
the day is complete.

fussy, dusty rose
blood red like pomegranate
and pink like grapefruit.

why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!

- alice

day twelve: doing too much heavy thinking
big thoughts: heaven, god,
answers? none? it's a pity,
but it's on my mind.

the dream child moving through a land of wonders, wild and new.

- the narrator

i took an unexpected trip to whidbey island for three nights and four days and had a surprisingly good time.

day eight: laughing gas
late night ferry rides,
giggling in corridors,
sleep still in my eyes.

day nine: star struck
look - star light, star bright;
lit up, a vacancy sign,
smile, constellations.

day ten: sunrise awe
bonfire beneath the
stars, across the midnight sky
moonlit miracles.

day eleven: mixed up memories
years gone, looking back,
it's been so long since we were
bright, young, wild and wise.

we're all mad here.

Photobucket
- the chesire cat.

home from hiking - five long nights, 21 miles.

day three: campfire smoke
crickets chatter and
tell their tales of wanderings,
midnight adventures.

day four: miracle of night
wilting willows watch
the rivers monotony
i'm captivated.

day five: perseid meteor shower
ebbing and flowing,
meteors pull fiery wings
through the starburst skies

day six: baby, it's cold outside
the icy winds breath
a colorless quarantine
sapping the suns warmth.

day seven: homecoming
bags packed and loaded
into the van that seats ten
nine hour singalong.
